BilingualReady began with a problem close to home. Someone preparing for the federal public service’s Second Language Evaluation had a year to get ready, but balancing work and family made it frustratingly difficult to find useful preparation at the right time.
We believe learners should have access to a complete preparation experience—from instruction and targeted practice to feedback, assessments, and realistic mock exams—whenever they are ready to learn. Advances in AI and voice technology make it possible to bring that experience to people on their own schedules.
Passing a language exam is about more than a test result—it can open the door to new roles, greater responsibility, and meaningful career opportunities. A busy life should not stand between capable people and the chance to move forward.

Hi, I’m Kola. I build things.
I’ve spent more than 17 years building production software—first for large commerce platforms and, more recently, with AI, language models, and voice technology. Some of those systems quietly powered major businesses. Others could hold a conversation. BilingualReady brings those worlds together: serious engineering applied to a very human problem, built by someone who has never been particularly good at seeing a solvable problem and leaving it alone.

Before BilingualReady, I built Innocent Baker with my wife, Ade, who is a trained pastry chef. She created the baked goods; I created the commerce platform and bravely volunteered to test the inventory. When I’m not writing code or hovering near Ade’s kitchen, I’m probably getting too competitive over a game or watching the Toronto Raptors—another long-running experiment in patience, hope, and trusting the process.
