Your mock interview is scored across these five criteria, each mapped to proficiency levels A, B, and C from the PSC framework.
Comprehension
Ability to understand spoken French in a workplace context.
Understands simple sentences and frequently used expressions.
Understands the main points on familiar matters regularly encountered at work.
Understands extended speech even when it is not clearly structured.
Fluency
Ability to speak smoothly without excessive hesitation.
Can produce simple phrases and sentences linked with simple connectors.
Can produce stretches of language with a fairly even tempo with some hesitation.
Can express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for words.
Vocabulary
Range and precision of vocabulary used during the interaction.
Has sufficient vocabulary for routine everyday transactions.
Has sufficient vocabulary to express ideas on most topics pertinent to daily work.
Has a broad vocabulary and can use circumlocutions to cover gaps.
Grammar
Accuracy and complexity of grammatical structures.
Uses simple structures correctly but still systematically makes basic mistakes.
Communicates with reasonable accuracy in familiar contexts with noticeable mother tongue influence.
Consistently maintains a high degree of grammatical accuracy; errors are rare.
Pronunciation
Clarity and accuracy of spoken French sounds, intonation, and rhythm.
Pronunciation is generally intelligible but with a noticeable foreign accent and occasional misunderstandings.
Clear and natural pronunciation with some influence from other languages that rarely causes misunderstanding.
Pronunciation is clear and natural with appropriate intonation and stress patterns throughout.
